Jo Treharne.
Jo has a full-time communications role with Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust and is passionate about public health, community health care and the NHS generally.
Jo created the Canterbury Old Bags, a successful women’s recreational group after seeing a feature about the COGS on BBC1. Jo then gained her FA Level 1 coaching qualification and booked a 5 a-side pitch, in January 2017, where Old Bags United was born. The "Bags" now have teams which play in a flexi-league (running), walking football and they also play Futsal and welcome all abilities.
Having won some prestigious Awards in football, Jo furthered her coaching and has been instrumental in the growing number of girls playing for the Canterbury Eagles, where she is also the Women & Girls Development Lead.
Jo is passionate about getting women into sport at a later age and is proof that you don’t need to have played a sport to start playing it.
